What we do

What We Do

Dimobi Childrens Disability trust offers a range of services to provide support and assistance to family members, carers, and professionals working with individuals with autism.

Our Programmes

Support That Changes Lives

We provide inclusive, practical and compassionate support for children and young people with disabilities, autism, learning disabilities and additional needs, as well as their parents, carers and wider families.

We don’t believe families should have to face challenges alone. From the first conversation to ongoing advocacy and practical support, we are here to listen, empower, advocate and walk alongside families.

Autism & Disability Support

Understanding Needs. Unlocking Potential.

We provide advice, information and personalised support to children and young people with autism, learning disabilities and additional needs. We also support parents, carers and professionals to better understand individual needs and access appropriate services.

Children & Young People’s Activities

Every Child Deserves to Belong.

Our inclusive holiday programmes, wellbeing activities, trips and community events give children and young people opportunities to have fun, build friendships, develop confidence and learn new skills.

Activities can include arts and crafts, music, dance, games, storytelling, creative activities, social activities and community experiences.

Parents’ & Carers’ Forum

Your Voice. Your Community. Your Strength.

Our Parents’ and Carers’ Forum provides a welcoming peer-to-peer network where families can connect, share experiences and access information, workshops and support.

We empower parents and carers to have a stronger voice in decisions affecting their children and encourage co-production, ensuring services are shaped with families rather than simply for them.

Family Support & Advocacy

Standing With Families When It Matters Most.

We provide one-to-one support and advocacy to help families navigate difficult situations and access the services and opportunities they need.

Our support includes form filling, letter writing, mediation, signposting, brief interventions, court support, information about benefits and finances, and advocacy with services and professionals.

Carers’ Wellbeing

Caring for Those Who Care for Others.

Carers give so much every day. We provide opportunities for carers to focus on their own emotional, social and physical wellbeing.

Our support includes carers’ lunches, drop-in sessions, peer support, wellbeing activities, social opportunities, training sessions and occasional pampering and relaxation activities.

Community Workshops & Training

Knowledge Builds Confidence.

We deliver disability and culturally responsive awareness sessions, workshops and training for parents, carers, volunteers, community members and professionals.

Our workshops help increase understanding of autism, disability and additional needs while giving families practical knowledge and confidence to advocate for themselves and their children.

Advice, Information & Signposting

Helping Families Find the Right Support.

Finding the right service can sometimes feel overwhelming. We provide accessible advice and information and connect families with appropriate local services, specialist organisations and other sources of support.

Domestic Abuse Support

A Safe Space to Be Heard and Supported.

Through our specialist family support, we provide confidential and compassionate assistance to carers affected by domestic abuse.

We listen without judgement, provide emotional and practical support, advocate where appropriate and signpost to specialist services when additional help is required.

Food Relief & Practical Support

Supporting Families Through Difficult Times.

Through Dimobi Food Relief Support, we provide food parcels and practical assistance to families experiencing financial hardship or crisis.

Our aim is not only to respond to immediate need but also to help families access wider support that can improve their longer-term circumstances.

Youth Voice & Participation

Nothing About Young People Without Young People.

We create opportunities for young people to express their views, develop confidence and participate in decisions that affect them.

We believe young people’s experiences and ideas should help shape the programmes and services designed for them.

Peer Buddy Support

Connection. Friendship. Belonging.

Our peer support approach brings people together through shared experiences, helping children, young people, parents and carers build supportive relationships and reduce isolation.

Co-Production

Designed With Families, Not Just For Families.

Families are experts through experience. Our Co-Production Group creates opportunities for parents, carers and young people to work alongside professionals and organisations to influence and improve services.

Volunteering

Give Your Time. Share Your Skills. Change a Life.

We provide meaningful volunteering opportunities for people who want to contribute their experience, skills and compassion to supporting children, young people and families.

Parents’ & Carers’ Forum

Our Commitment

From crisis to confidence. From isolation to belonging. From being unheard to having a voice.

At Dimobi Children Disability Trust, we don’t just provide services — we build stronger families, create opportunities and help children and young people thrive.

Our Work

What we Believe

We work closely with families, for families. Everything we do is carried out in the hope of improving the lives of our families. We achieve this by working directly with parents and carers. We are driven by what they tell us.

Autism usually manifests in the first year of life. Its onset is usually no later than 3 years.
